Tasty Travels: Asheville

Picture 4We get that rambling fever in the Summer- traveling to places both familiar and new. The taste of Summer might be the flavors of home revisited, or it may be a new flavor combination you’ll pack up in your mind at the end of the trip and take home.

This Summer, I’m going to let my BLOG take you along to some of my travels & the flavors that accompany it.  First stop, Asheville NC.

In the video you will see an easy eggplant dish, we can all try!

Other great finds on that trip include a cold peach soup at The Grove Park Inn. I don’t have a recipe on that, but… I WILL be trying to make one, in the near future. They also found a way to make a simple baked Brie and preserves even better- Add some whiskey right at the end…Yum.

The other Grove Park flavor to pack up and take with us, was flavored waters. Now I don’t mean all these crazy bottled varities with fake sweetners. I mean the old “Spa Specialties” that we should be taking advantage off all Summer long. Cucumber water is so easy to make and so refreshing. Just filtered water with slices of cucumber in it. There was also a Lemon and Thyme fixed just as easy. The combinations are endless! I am the one that they are always saying, “drink more water” to… this makes me want to drink more.

My next travel stop is The US Virgin Islands… St. John & Thomas mainly. I’m a sucker for conch fritters, so I’m pumped, but can’t wait to find some other flavors to pack up and take along.

Remember…
