Shredded Beef & Peperocini Crockpot Hoagies

Picture 1First of all… this “Crockpot Dish” is a viewer request… but what a great idea. In the week before Christmas, we are all rushing and running and tempted to eat a bunch of greasy fast food. This Shredded Beef Hoagie is FULL of flavor and could be waiting for you when you get back.

Crockpots… it’s one of the first kitchen appliances you get and it is one of the few that has stood the test of time. Btw, I agree with *Alton Brown, the garlic press is USLESS. The crockpot, is like a long lost friend… I forget it for about 6-8 months and then love it when i get it back out!  * http://gizmodo.com/5347140/alton-brown-kitchen-gadget-judgment-calls-+-yea-or-nay

I am NOT a big bread eater, but when I do get to wanting a cheese steak kinda’ sanwich- this is the recipe.

ONE step wonder… roast (and you can skimp on the cut… because between the low cooking and the vinegar, it WILL be tender) add one jar (juice & all) of Peperocini Peppers. Cook over night or just for a few hours while doing something else. BUT COOK ON LOW… low and slow.

*This is a recipe my Mother in Law got from a friend at work, a great time saver to share with a friend!

Can’t wait to try. May add onions because Christy won’t eat the peppers. Hahaha. Will do it this weekend. I am going to do Boliche (Cuban Pot Roast) Saffron Rice and Black Beans for New Years. Have a great holiday. Love this Site.

That Vinegar in the peppers is what breaks the meat down so tender, try using just the liquid not the peppers and then add onions… Hey, THANK YOU soooo much for the kind words on the site. You know me, always working on the “next”

I just put one of these in my crock pot. I forgot to buy some Provolone Cheese yesterday, but I will have plenty of time to go to Ingles while my Shredded Beef & Peperocini cooks.
